Students’ Parents Visit New Cultural and Educational Complex on Russky Island

The Cultural and Educational Complex located on Russky Island in Vladivostok was visited by parents of the students to start their studies in this centre in September. The parents have been given a tour of the educational buildings.

Stroytransgaz-Vostok representatives together with the management of the Primorsky Branch of the Central Music School – the Academy of Performing Arts have shown the special educational building of the music school with concert halls, audio recording studios, library, rehearsal rooms, as well as the education centre with two swimming pools, gymnasium, modern classrooms and a comfortable boarding school.

‘Here everything necessary is provided for child education and recreation. All the buildings are interconnected by winterized passages. Students can get from the boarding school to the music school and education centre without going outdoors. It should be noted that artists as young as 7 years of age will have an opportunity to perform on a modern theatrical stage. The concert hall is designed for 300 seats and its acoustic facilities are in no way inferior to those used at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre’, added Evgeny Koshelev, Director General of Stroytransgaz-Vostok.

‘It is a unique educational centre for our city, there are very few analogues in the world. Even if at first we were in doubt whether to send our child here, now it is decided. The most important thing now is to pass the exams’, says Evgeny Arkhipov, a resident of Vladivostok.

‘Our son plays the violin. We highly appreciate that sports activities are also available here in addition to music classes. There is a stadium and a football field outdoors, and a gym in the school. We are impressed by the scale of the facility: wide corridors, a real laboratory in the chemistry room, interactive boards in the robotics class. Everything is top notch’, added another city resident Alexey Olenev.

‘Now a competitive selection to our school, which is well-known in the musical circles, is held for particularly gifted youth. Even the first-year students should demonstrate a certain level of skills with a musical instrument. In autumn, a full-fledged educational process will begin in the new complex, and we invite elementary school teachers, maths, Russian language and literature teachers to join our staff,’ said Nataliya Maltseva, Director of the Primorsky Branch of the Central Music School – the Academy of Performing Arts.

Young talents from all over the Far East are starting their classes in September. The branches of the Central Music School and the Academy of Performing Arts can accommodate up to 550 children. There is a boarding school for students aged 12+ on campus, and residential houses with fully furnished apartments for teachers located just outside the campus.
