VIP guests at the construction site in Kaliningrad

For two days the heads of the Stroytransgaz Group of Companies and the National Cultural Heritage Foundation for social and cultural projects worked at the construction site of the Cultural and Educational Complex on Oktyabrsky Island. The heads of the Bolshoi Theater and a branch of the Tretyakov Gallery also took part in the working meetings. The main issue of discussion was the progress of construction of the facilities and the forthcoming commissioning of the future museum.

Rinat Shigapov, President of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation,  Anatoly Barsukov , Deputy General Director of the Bolshoi Theater, and Kamilya Baidildina , Director of the Tretyakov Gallery branch, visit the construction site on Oktyabrsky Island on a regular basis. Each of their meetings with Dmitry Lebedev , General Director of Stroytransgaz GC, and Dmitry Rzhannikov, General Director of STG-Zapad, is focused on discussing the current situation, as well as challenging aspects of construction, the solution of which requires joint efforts.

"A visit to the site is always about monitoring processes, identifying bottlenecks, making decisions that can improve the construction situation and speed it up,"  says Dmitry Lebedev, General Director of Stroytransgaz Group of Companies.  - Now our special attention is paid to the museum, it will be delivered in the nearest future. Besides, the deadlines for all the facilities being constructed in Kaliningrad are very tight. The work is going on at a good pace, but there are quite a lot of difficulties. Kaliningrad has a special logistical challenge due to the territorial peculiarity of the region, which affects the procurement and delivery of sanctioned goods".

To a greater extent, this challenge affected the branch of the Bolshoi Theater, where the design mainly provided for European-made process equipment. It is especially difficult to replace lighting and sound equipment with analogs without deteriorating the quality, as this market is quite small. To solve this task, a redesign was conducted, taking into account the quality requirements of future users of the building. Also representatives of the Bolshoi Theater advise the builders on the purpose of the theater premises and their occupancy.

Anatoly Barsukov, Deputy General Director of the Bolshoi Theater, notes: "We help the builders at all stages. Now only the outlines of the halls appear in the concrete. The builders need to understand what equipment will be installed there, its functionality. Without understanding the functionality, it is difficult to imagine what will happen in the hall. That's what we're here for. Seeing only the "paper", it is quite difficult to understand what is in this document, what the technical order is, what we want to get in the end".

Following the two-day work, the heads of the construction organization and future users of the buildings made a number of decisions that will allow them to continue the construction of the Cultural and Educational Complex facilities at the set high pace.
