Construction of the Cultural and Educational Complex in Kaliningrad (October, 2023)

Finishing works of exhibition halls are being completed in the Tretyakov Gallery branch. More than 40 thousand cubic meters of concrete were laid to erect the cast-in-situ load-bearing frame of the Bolshoi Theatre branch building. The facade at the third floor level is being installed on the building of the branch of the Baltic Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts.

STG-Zapad, which is constructing a Cultural and Educational Complex on Oktyabrsky Island, still keeps high pace of activities. The building of the Tretyakov Gallery branch is being prepared for commissioning and handing over to users. Today the interior finishing works of the exhibition halls are being completed. Almost all walls are covered with decorative plaster and natural oak parquet is laid. Terminal equipment such as control panels, various sensors, sockets and switches are being installed in the rooms. The grand staircase is being transformed before our eyes, already fully ready to be covered with natural wood materials.  On the first floor of the public space, scaffolding is being assembled for the installation of the fiberglass ceiling dome. Roller shutters are being installed on the roof of the building, thus allowing the entire group of skylights to be covered if necessary. The paving and formation of flower beds is also being completed on the surrounding area.

"There is still a lot of work to be done before we can see the final picture," - says Dmitry Rzhannikov, General Director of STG-Zapad. – This is the final stage, when each type of work, for example, installation of doors or installation of lighting fixtures, gives the rooms and the building as a whole a finished look. Also now we are actively connecting the building to the city engineering networks. In general, we are on schedule to deliver the facility on time".

The building of the Bolshoi Theater branch is being erected at an elevation of 31 to 36 meters. 40.2 thousand cubic meters of concrete have been laid for the cast-in-situ load-bearing frame and over one ton of steel elements have been assembled. The overall readiness of the building's load-bearing structures (reinforced concrete and steel elements) is estimated at 56%. The construction of half-timbering and laying of internal walls and partitions is in progress.

The main stage of the construction of the building of the Baltic Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts remains the construction of the facade. The rack and crossbeam system for fixing stained glass and steel elements is now 70% complete. Currently 46% of translucent structures and 25% of cassettes of Corten steel are mounted. Facade works are being completed at the level of the third floor.
