Yury Trutnev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Far Eastern Federal District, and Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Primorsky Territory, examined the facilities of the museum, cultural, and educational complex in Vladivostok under construction based on an order of the President. The construction site tour to Aksakovskaya Street took place on Tuesday, February 9. JSC Stroytransgaz is the general contractor under the project.

Work is under way at the construction site to lay technical and household sewerage systems, excavate a pit, and remove rocky ground, as well as to develop the layout, erect cast-in-place fore shafts, and build trenches under the fore shafts.

Vladimir Lavlentsev, General Director of JSC Stroytransgaz, pointed out that the Government of the Primorsky Territory, for its part, does everything possible to support and provide the necessary assistance in the construction of the cultural and educational complex.

“By the end of this week, we will know whether we can meet the deadlines and technical and financial specifications. We expect to complete the work by December 2023,” said Natalya Volynskaya, President of the National Heritage Fund (the developer).

The Plenipotentiary Representative pointed out that efforts must be taken to catch up with the established deadlines but not at the expense of the quality of the facilities under construction.

“Of course, it is highly desirable not to delay the project. But the most important thing is to remember what exactly we are building. A lot of money is being invested here. It would be better to complete the work a few months later, but to do everything right,” said Yury Trutnev.

The Plenipotentiary Representative also drew attention to the area adjacent to the construction site. He noted that it should be improved by the complex opening ceremony.

“Hopefully, it will be one of the most attractive buildings of the city in the future. The area around it must meet the standard,” summed up Yury Trutnev.

The cultural and educational cluster in Vladivostok will be located in the central part of the city and on island Russky. On the mainland, it will combine the Tretyakov Gallery, State Hermitage, Russian Museum, and Museum of Oriental Art, namely the local branches of these leading institutions, as well as their regional and foreign partners. The country's largest campus of creative universities – Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, Moscow State Academy of Choreography (MGAH), a branch of the Central Music School at the Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky (TsMSh) – will be situated on island Russky.

New modern cultural, educational, and museum complexes are under construction in Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Vladivostok, and in the South of Russia by order Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. The facilities construction is one of the largest cultural projects of the recent years. They will be landmarks and pride of the regions.
