Cultural and educational complexes are presented at the Baltic Cultural Forum

One of the most large-scale cultural projects of recent years - cultural and educational complexes to be constructed in four Russian cities - was presented at a large-scale discussion platform - the Baltic Cultural Forum, which opened on February 25. The project was presented by the President of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation N.V. Volynskaya. The creation of cultural and educational complexes became one of the main topics of the first day of the cultural forum.

“The pandemic has greatly changed the lifestyle and business rhythm. There is awareness that what is needed is not one-time solutions but rather a strategic approach to creating new formats of interaction between cultural institutions and art lovers, ” - noted Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.

According to Mikhail Shvydkoy, the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation, the cultural cluster being built in Kaliningrad will change the cultural landscape of the city: “Kaliningrad is a large cultural tourist center. Tourism gives impetus to the development of the region. While culture and tourism are interrelated".

Within the framework of the project, four Russian cities will have new dance academies, branches of art schools, branches of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, the Russian Museum and the Tretyakov gallery, concert halls, museums and exhibition spaces, as well as modern infrastructure for comfortable living and work of actors, professionals, students and teachers.

At the end of 2023, branches of the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts and the Bolshoi Theater will open on the Western site of Oktyabrsky Island.

“The Bolshoi Theater is very pleased to be involved in the project to create its own branch in Kaliningrad,” - noted Vladimir Urin, General Director of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia. - In addition to the construction of the building, it is necessary to create a theater group jointly with natives of Kaliningrad. It is a serious and big job. "

Future branch of the Tretyakov Gallery

Today, the reinforced concrete structures of a branch of one of the largest museums of the country are already 55% ready. The branch of the Tretyakov Gallery will have its own permanent exhibitions. “The branch of the gallery will run lectures, workshops, discussions. There will be a large space available for the city's residents. Film screenings will be organized, theatrical performances will be shown, music will play. And the main thing is that there will be art, ” - noted Zelfira Tregulova, director of the State Tretyakov Gallery.

Best-in-class art spaces of public life and education are being created for people of all ages, which will be constantly open for free visits. New opportunities will open up for young creative people to receive excellent education locally in order to realize their talents. Innovative digital solutions will attract the modern generation to the world art. Harmony of space, advanced technologies, the best teachers - all of that are components of a powerful system of educational centers.

Eastern site

The educational complex facilities will be opened on the Eastern site of Oktyabrsky Island in Kaliningrad already in Autumn of 2021; today, interior finishing is in full swing therein. The construction of five multi-apartment residential buildings for employees of the cultural and educational complex is set to continue. The installation of a reinforced concrete frame in two houses has been completed, the interior finishing and laying of internal utility networks is underway therein.

“There will be an unrivalled location fast and easy to get to from any European city, faster than to Moscow and St. Petersburg. The cultural and educational cluster will be a center of attraction, one of the main ones in the region, ” - pointed out Natalia Volynskaya, President of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation.

As for educational complexes, they are already in operation in the existing premises. “Children take classes at the branches of the Central Music School at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Moscow State Academy of Choreography. Students, young and not very young, have already proceeded to their studies. And they are looking forward to an opportunity to settle in the new modern buildings that we are building for them,” - expounded Natalya Volynskaya.
