Reconstruction Area of Tupoleva Street in Zhukovsky

Stroytransgaz Group is working on the reconstruction of Tupoleva Street in Zhukovsky City, Moscow Region. The facility is 90% complete. It is planned to launch traffic on the main road at the end of December this year.

As part of the reconstruction, a 713 m long tunnel was built under Gromov Square. Inside the artificial structure, the roadway pavement was completed, road markings were applied, installation of expansion joints on the road surface is in progress. The installation of the external and internal lining of the tunnel and erection of its life support system are nearing completion.

The main route readiness is 85%. Formerly Tupoleva Street had 2 lanes, and this month, drivers will enjoy the opportunity to ride along 4 lanes of the transit section under Gromov Square. In addition, there are alternate routes above the tunnel, adding 2 more lanes on each side. Thus, thanks to the reconstruction, the section has been expanded from 2 to 8 lanes.

5 elevated pedestrian crossings will be built to ensure safe and comfortable movement of citizens; access for people with limited mobility will be provided as well. Pedestrian crossings Nos. 1, 2 and 3 are fully completed. The following works are in progress at crossing No. 4: installation of the walkway section on the superstructure, installation of the glazing frame of support tower No. 2 and interior finishing of support tower No. 1. At elevated pedestrian crossing No. 5, paving of the walkway slab, stairways and turnarounds is underway.

It is planned to launch traffic on the main road of Tupoleva Street at the end of December 2022. About 250 workers and 60 units of machinery are engaged in work daily to deliver the facility on time.

The section under reconstruction (2.7 km) lies between the road interchange at the intersection of Tupolev Street and the Tupolevskoye highway, and the bridge across the Khripan River. The project execution will increase the road capacity and improve transport accessibility for about 400 thousand residents of the cities of Zhukovsky and Ramenskoe. The traffic will be non-stop, and the travel time on Tupolev Street will be reduced to 10 minutes. It will be possible to get to the Novoryazanskoye highway in 15–20 minutes.
