Reconstruction of Oil Pipeline Section in Perm Territory

Reconstruction of Oil Pipeline Section in Perm Territory

Stroytransgaz Group performed construction of a section of the Eastern Bypass road in Perm. Kamenny Log-Perm oil pipeline section was reconstructed, and Transneft-Prikamye performed engineering connection.

The works were performed as part of the largest infrastructure project in Perm Territory — construction of a bridge over the Chusovaya River and road sections on access to the bridge.

The total length of the reconstructed section was 237 metres.

The works were performed from November 2022, taking into account all requirements of the current legislation and in compliance with industrial safety rules.

Horizontal auger drilling method was used to install the case across the road, wherein the working pipe of high durability was laid. The case is made of 720x16 seamless steel pipe of K50 strength class, with 3-layer outer coating to resist significant temperature and mechanical loads. Upon completion of pressure tests, tie-in to the existing oil pipeline was made.

Once the reconstructed section is connected to the existing pipeline system, the relevant identification and warning signs will be installed. The old section of the pipeline will be dismantled and the main oil pipeline will be backfilled to the design roadbed levels, while technical and biological reclamation will be carried out.
