According to Dmitry Makhonin, the new bridge across the Chusovaya River is currently one of the largest and most expensive PPP projects implemented in the Kama Region. “Reconstruction of the old bridge and construction of a new one will make it possible to eliminate congestion at the crossing over the Chusovaya River and improve transport links between Perm and the northern territories of the Kama Region, which are actively developing today. Besides, the facility will become part of the Moscow – Kazan – Perm – Khanty-Mansiysk – Surgut – Tomsk main corridor,” pointed out the Governor. “Today, the contractor provided technologies that allowed us to catch up with the deadlines in order to fulfil our obligations. This year, the top priority is to build a new part of the bridge and start reconstruction of the existing one. The structure is of particular importance both for residents and for cargo carriers, so it is necessary to complete the construction on time – by the end of 2023. The commissioning of the bridge and bypass roads will solve the problem of traffic jams in this section during the summer season,” said the head of the region.

Vladimir Lavlentsev, General Director of JSC Stroytransgaz, noted that the construction of the bridge across the Chusovaya River and reconstruction of transport interchanges is one of the top-priority projects for the company. “We certainly understand the high importance of this infrastructure complex for the residents of the region. All necessary measures have been taken to complete the construction. In 2021, work was reset. There is a positive trend. Last year, we completed most of the intermediate supports, which is the most technologically difficult stage of the works. This year, our plans include enlargement, assembly, and launching of superstructures, arrangement of bridge deck elements. Construction of the facilities is carried out around the clock. The main construction and installation works meet the schedule approved at a meeting with the Governor of the Perm Territory,” said Vladimir Lavlentsev.

It should be noted that according to the plan, the technical start-up of the new bridge across the Chusovaya River is scheduled for late 2022. In 2023, approaches and transport interchanges will be completed, the old Chusovskoy bridge will be reconstructed as well. The new structure will be 1.5 km long, in addition, over 7.5 km of roads will be reconstructed and three interchanges will be built: at the intersection with Tsimlyanskaya and Korsunskaya Streets and near the Palniki railway station. Today, according to Vladimir Lavlentsev, the actual works to build the bridge have been completed by 60%. The facility readiness percentage according to documents is 23.75%.

As for the supports that are currently under construction, support No. 11 has the highest readiness percentage. According to specialists, workers have only to concrete its top. The foundation of support No. 6 is completely finished, while the foundation of support No. 7 is 70% ready, 8 out of 15 piles have been concreted. Drainage has been carried out at support No. 10, work is underway to reinforce the grillage. Its concreting is scheduled for 21 February. Foundation works are underway at support No. 12.

Besides, workers are dispersed at the construction of transport interchanges. In the area of Tsimlyanskaya Street, an overpass is under construction – all 7 supports of the future interchange are ready. Now, workers are installing superstructures: from 1 to 2 and from 3 to 7. Until the end of February, traffic will be switched to an asphalt-coated bypass, the earth bed lowering on the existing roadway will begin, followed by the installation of span 2–3. The launch of the finished transport interchange is scheduled for early August 2022.

Four above-ground pedestrian overpasses will be built for the safety of pedestrians. The builders have begun the construction of one of them, in the area of the Bannaya Gora cemetery. The foundation is being concreted at the first support and piles are being driven at the second one.

At the same time, construction of an interchange in the area of Vtoraya Korsunskaya Street began. Foundations of supports 1,2,3, and 5 are being concreted there. Besides, the existing railway overpass (Levshino – Golovanovo section) is currently being dismantled. Construction of the overpass second stage continues in the area of the Palnikovskaya interchange.
