Official Ceremony to Launch Gas Transportation Pipeline in Perm Territory Built by STG Six Months Ahead of Schedule

The official ceremony to launch gas pipeline in Perm Territory built by Stroytransgas JSC six months ahead of the contractual schedule was held. The event was attended by Sergey A. Sosnov, STG JSC project manager for the construction of gas pipelines in the Perm Territory.

The new networks allowed to connect 268 households in two settlements with more than 600 people to eco-friendly natural fuel. Completing construction ahead of the contractual deadline made it possible to supply gas to residents sooner than initially expected.

"Gas infrastructure expansion in the region remains one of the key directions in the work of the regional government. Natural gas allows to reduce the burden on the family budget and provide a more comfortable living environment. Despite that the rate of connecting the households to the gas system has significantly increased, the need for new gas pipelines in the Kama region is still high. We need to maintain the set pace", said Dmitri Makhonin, head of the Kama region, who took part in the event via videoconferencing.

Gas supply to the villages has become possible due to the commissioning of an inter-settlement gas pipeline ‘Upper Sava – Lower Sava – Central Facility of the 3rd State Stud Farm’, built as part of a program of Gazprom PJSC. Its length is 12.2 km. In addition, distribution networks within the villages themselves were constructed, and have total length of more than 15 km.

The facility is equipped with automated devices using special sensors to record all the data required for smooth and proper operation of the gas pipeline and transmit them to the control room, allowing for remote monitoring of on-site processes.

This system will also allow for automatic control of stations, systems, process equipment supplying gas to distribution networks in the required amount and to specifications. In case of an emergency, shut-off valves automatically trip and cut off the gas supply. The installed equipment increases safety and operational reliability of the gas supply system due to a more responsive control and prevention of accidents.

Stroytransgaz is currently constructing another gas pipeline from Malaya Mochga village to Oni settlement and further to Maykor settlement of Yusvinsky district of Perm Territory. The total length of the pipeline will be 24.19 km.

"Every year, gas is becoming more affordable for residents of the region. As the 2021–2025 Gazprom Program of Gas Supply and Gas Infrastructure Expansion of Russian Regions is being executed, the region territory covered by the program of the further gas infrastructure expansion also increases. Today, two more settlements got the opportunity to have gas supplied to their homes. Thanks to the support of the Government of the Perm Territory, we are now constructing gas pipelines up to house connection points without attracting any financing from citizens", Sergey Cherezov, General Director of Gazprom Gazoraspredelenie Perm JSC, said.

According to Artem Balakhnin, Minister of Housing and Public Works of Perm Territory, the Government of Perm Territory is taking serious steps to improve the pace of gas infrastructure expansion in the region. "We are increasing funding for construction of gas pipelines and providing compensation to subsidized households. In addition, there is a high rate of further gas infrastructure expansion in the region: we have already signed contracts for more than 70% of the requests," said the minister.

Stroytransgaz is one of the active participants in the Russian regional gas infrastructure expansion project implemented by Gazprom Mezhregiongaz. The company is constructing 11 facilities in five regions of Russia.
