Head of Avtodor State Company V. Petushenko Inspected Construction Phase 1 of M-12 Route

It is required to accelerate the works at the 2nd start-up facility of Phase1 of M-12 Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod-Kazan Route, all engineering structures should be completed there by August.  Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of Avtodor State Company, emphasized this at a meeting after a Sunday drive along the section of Construction Phase 1 of M-12 Route.

It was attended by Mars Gazizullin, First Deputy Chairman of the Board, Yuri Kuzmin, Deputy Head of the Construction Directorate, Head of M-12 Office, Dmitry Deringer, Deputy General Director for Infrastructure Construction of Stroytransgaz JSC, Grigory Kovalenko, General Director of STG Avtomagistral LLC, employees of STG, the State Company, and designers.

The traffic from Moscow to Arzamas along the M-12 federal road is scheduled for launching in September 2023, including the 32 km of the 2nd start-up facility of Phase 1 from the intersection with A-108 Moscow Big Ring federal highway to M-7 Volga, a bypass in Pokrov.

Today, works on 16 engineering structures (11 viaducts, 4 bridges and 1 pedestrian crossing) are underway in this section. The builders completed the installation of 6 out of 8 solid cast supports on both lanes of the longest bridge (across the Kirzhach River) on M-12 highway.

By August of this year, all engineering structures (ES) in progress at the 2nd start-up facilities of Phase 1 of M-12 shall be completed and asphalt concrete shall be cast throughout the 32 km section. The overall availability of Construction Phase 1 surface of the route is now 75%.

In general, the installation of solid cast reinforced concrete structures of two pedestrian crossings, three cattle roads, four bridges and six overpasses has now been completed on the 80 km section of the highway. About 2,000 employees and more than 400 units of machinery are engaged in operations on a daily basis.

To recap, traffic along the 48 km (Petushki bypass) section of the 1st start-up facility of Phase 1 was officially launched in December 2022 by the President of the Russian Federation.

The new M-12 highway has a huge economic potential, and in modern realities it should become one of the main transport routes in Russia and a key corridor to Asian countries. Thus, the construction pace is high.
